About Us

MountainWeather™ is a meteorological consulting company, established in 1991 and based  in Jackson, Wyoming.  Owned and operated by meteorologist Jim Woodmencey, MountainWeather™ specializes in weather forecasting for mountain locations around the world. MountainWeather also provides a variety of weather training courses for the public and to the military.

JIM WOODMENCEY
Owner & Meteorologist
BS Meteorology from Montana State University, 1982. Former weather and avalanche forecaster for the State of Alaska. Jim has
been forecasting the weather in Jackson Hole & the Teton Mountains since 1991. He also forecasts for climbing expeditions worldwide. Lead instructor for Mountain Weather Forecasting Courses for both the general public and the United States military. Jim is a member of the American Meteorological Society and is an American Avalanche Association Certified Instructor.

Owner of Gliffen Designs in Jackson, WY since 2006. AJ has 20 years of website & graphic design experience. He developed the first upgrade to mountainweather.com in 2010, and has been the lead programmer & designer for updates to the website ever since.
